International Media Workshops

During the two days you will participate two workshops:
What is a Radio Documentary? What are the different elements used? How can it help you reach out to your community? In this workshop you will learn about how a Radio Documentary can be a powerful tool to tell your story through sound.
Trainer: Natalie Konyalian (Cyprus) is production coordinator of Cyprus Community Media Center (CCMC), as well as the station manager of MYCYradio. She is a videographer, and has been working in the NGO sector for the last five years. During her years at CCMC, Natalie has produced multiple short videos for a number of civil society organisations across the island, on topics relating to peace and reconciliation, youth, gender, the environment, human rights, education and culture.
The Power of Fiction
Edutainment? Using fiction to raise awareness, mobilize or develop critical thinking? In this workshop you will learn how to use Radio Drama for radiobroadcasts. You will put together a radio drama and present it to your group.
Trainer: Claudia Dal-Bianco (Austria) is editor of the Austrian magazine Frauen*solidarität (Women’s Solidarity). Frauen*solidarität is an NGO who deals with global power relations from a feminist point of view. Claudia is/was responsible for various projects on the topics of media and women’s rights. Additionally to her editorial work she organizes and conducts media trainings especially on radio production.
- This training is addressed to human rights activists, media activists and international affairs students.
- The training is free of charge; however participants must attend all two days of the gathering. By participating you are committing to use the acquired skills and knowledge in media interventions in your activism and advocacy work after the training.
